I am running behind, way behind on my Thanksgiving dinner preparations. Painting, cleaning, sorting. I need a vacation, urgently! Do you feel the same?
Nevertheless, still time to make some homemade cranberry sauce. Don’t give in; no store bought jelly-like stuff, alright! This is my favorite recipe. It enhances the flavors of the cranberries with cinnamon, oranges and Cointreau. It will go perfectly with your Thanksgiving turkey.
Ingredients:
* 3 cups fresh cranberries
* zest of two oranges
* juice of two oranges
* 3/4 cup sugar
* 1 Tablespoon Cointreau
* 2 cinnamon sticks
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients in a medium sized pot. Cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes. Let cool and discard the cinnamon sticks before serving.
Enjoy!

This looks wonderful, Kirsten! I sure wish we have fresh cranberries over here!
Happy Thanksgiving, hope you have a wonderful day with your family!
Omigosh, Kirsten, this is delicious!! I made one recipe thinking we would take it to our family dinner tomorrow in Castle Pines but quickly realized my husband and I would have it eaten in a nanosecond. Just returned from a run to King Sooper in order to buy enough ingredients to triple the recipe. I will never, ever use canned cranberry sauce again:)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Happy Thanksgiving Kirsten and Family! I too am looking forward to putting my feet up after cooking the big meal. Busy times. Great photo … love that dish.
What a wonderful combination of flavors. I love cranberry sauce and always look for a new twist–this one is finding its way to my table! Happy Thanksgiving dear friend, XOXO
This sounds fabulous. My cranberry sauce sounds much like this but I've never added Cointreau but I will now. Happy Thanksgiving my friend!
