Prep time: 40 mins
Cook time: 20 mins
Total time: 1 hour
Ingredients
  • 1 pound (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 pound (450 g) ground pork
  • 4 eggs
  • 2½ cups (140 g) breadcrumbs, (not store bought!), I made mine from fresh (glutenfree) baguette
  • 1½ cups (200 g) onions, diced
  • olive oil
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Harissa spice mix
  • ½ teaspoon ginger powder
  • salt and pepper to season
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400 F.
  2. Line 2 baking sheets with aluminium foil. Set aside.
  3. In a pan heat the olive oil and glaze the onions on medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. In a big bowl mix together the onions with the rest of the ingredients. This works best using both hands.
  5. Season the mixture with pepper and salt.
  6. Using an ice cream scoop form round meatballs of equal size and weight.
  7. Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheets and bake for about 20 minutes.
Notes
I served my meatballs with an Indian coconut curry sauce (store bought) over some organic rice.
