My friend Tracy has been hosting a cupcake competition for “Best Taste” and “Most Original Theme” for many years. This year was the first time I participated and I have to tell you, that I was blown away by the design and artistry of her competing baker friends. Guest judge was Desiree Kelly the owner of The Makery a local bakery specialized in wedding cakes, parties and classes.

This was a memorable evening, with great friends, outstanding food and unbelievable cupcake designs. Thank you Tracy for including me and hosting this special event.

Here are some impressions from the evening:

@Merut: My friend Marty won first place in "Original design" with her "Buffalo Chicken Hot Wing Meatloaf Cupcakes". Mine are the "Chocolate Cupcakes with Caramel Filling, Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting and Salted Caramel". I am sure you can tell I need a lot of help with my decorating skills, but I won first price for "Best Taste".

I love the brownie sliders. So adorable! Obviously there were plenty of artists there. So which one won first place? And which cupcakes were yours?

What a great time. They all look amazing but I really love those pound cake "fries."

New to your site. Love it here already. Can't wait to poke around some more.

Lots of yummy love,

Wow – that is the coolest most creative looking collection of cupcakes I have ever seen! How much fun you all must have had, especially getting to try them all. I wouldn't know which one to try first – I wonder what the Champagne flavored ones taste like? They are all so cool:)

I love looking at the pictures, though it solidifies my opinion that I will never have the creativity to compete in a cupcake competition 🙂 Still, I would love to judge one!!
